How to get FREE server space for your unit's website!

Who is eligible:

Any Program, District or Unit which resides in the Northwest Suburban Council, BSA area.

What we provide:

Each unit is responsible for designing and maintaining their own page(s).

Making it a unit activity is STRONGLY encouraged.

What is required of your Unit?

The unit must follow the guidelines set forth by the Northwest Suburban Council.

NO PAGES SHALL BE LINKED TO WWW.NWSC.ORG UNLESS THESE GUIDELINES ARE FOLLOWED.

Here's what you need to do to get your free site account:

First a registered leader from the unit must fill out the signup form and submit it to us. The submitting leader will be verified as a registered leader with their unit then emailed a User ID and password that must be used to access the server and upload the files of their site. A limit of 300 megs of free server space will be allowed for each unit. Units that register for free websites and they sit unused for over 90 days will be deleted.

How do we handle maintenance?

Maintenance will be handled by each Unit. The User ID and password provided to the registered leader must be used to access the server for the purpose of uploading files and maintaining your site.

How long does it take to setup your FREE site?

Under normal conditions, it will take two to three days to configure and setup your FREE webspace. If it takes longer, please be patient! Remember... this is FREE!

What will my URL be?

The URL will be http://UNIT&NUMBER.nwsc.org
(unit designation - ie. troop### or pack###, etc)

Absolutely NO adult, gambling, violence, or drug related content will be tolerated. Your FREE site may be revoked at any time without notice if council guidelines are violated, space goes unused, or server space becomes unavailable. Each unit is responsible for retaining a copy of their site in case of a catastrophy.
