The Finances of the NWSC are separated into three distinct groupings:
Operating, Capital, and Endowment.
Update on the Capital Campaign
| Operating | covers all day to day activities and operations of the Council. Providing organizational, administrative, training support, volunteer coordination, camp operations, and programming support, the NWSC provides services to over 15,000 youth and 5,000 adults in 34 communities in the Northwest Suburban area of Chicago, Illinois. |
| Capital | covers major equipment and property owned by the Council. The NWSC owns 3 major properties heavily used by the Scouting organization: the Service Center in Mt Prospect, IL; Camp Lakota in Woodstock, IL; and Camp Napowan in Wild Rose, WI. The Council announced a $4.3 million Capital Campaign, in fall 2005, to upgrade the facilities, to repair and replace out-dated buildings/structures/equipment, and to provide for essential needs. This need is long delayed and critical. |
| Endowment | is comprised of a special fund where the principal (donated dollars) stays invested with a portion of earnings used annually to support Operating, Capital, and Scoutreach needs of the Council. |
